• The Roxbury Interact Club’s 5th Annual Bake Sale will take place on Saturday, February 7th from 11 am-2 pm at the Horseshoe Lake Senior Center. This year’s fundraiser will benefit RHS’ own Henry Hand.

• Environmental Club: Meetings are on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month in G161. They present on current environmental topics, work in the front garden, host guest speakers, create bulletin boards, make environmentally friendly crafts, and host open discussions. Advisors: Mrs. Dunn & Ms. Fagan.

• Model UN: Meets every other Wednesday in N224. Their first competition will be at Seton Hall University on February 7th and 8th! Google Classroom Code: t2de6sf.

• Roxbury HOSA: HOSA is an international student organization to promote career opportunities in the health care Industry to help train future leaders and improve health care worldwide. Members study specific healthcare-related subjects before attending regional, and even state or national competitions, possibly even making it to the International Leadership Conference, where their medical knowledge is tested on an International scale. Our club is great for those interested in medicine and STEM, and is also a great club to put on college transcripts! Google Classroom Code: Jhgq72g.

• JSA: The Mission of JSA is to strengthen American democracy by educating and preparing high school students for lifelong involvement and responsible leadership in a democratic society. They are a nonpartisan, student-led organization with the mission of fostering civic engagement among high schoolers through regular debates, local events, information about current events, and activism and volunteering opportunities. They provide students with a platform to voice their opinions and engage in meaningful discussions. Through our activities, they hope that students will develop their own unique and informed worldviews and create change.

• Model UN: Meeting every other Wednesday in room N224.

• Yearbook Club: Meeting every other Tuesday in room H171 at 2:15.

Our 2/2 Student of the Week is Aaron Pineiro!

Aaron Pineiro is a senior at Roxbury High School. Some of his extracurricular activities include Aviation Club (he is the president!), Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field, Sensation Jazz Choir, and Glee Club. Additionally, he is a member of the Roxbury Choir Council, the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and the Spanish Honor Society. In his free time, you can find Aaron volunteering for the Roxbury Performing Arts Department, flying planes out of Blairstown airport, and spending time with friends. As for being a Roxbury High School student, Aaron said, “I am very grateful for being a student at Roxbury, as I have developed relationships with friends, teachers, and coaches who have helped me to grow and thrive.”
