- Congratulations to our Wildlife Fire Students! They’ve officially completed S-190: Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior—the first of five courses required for wildland firefighter certification. This course lays the foundation for understanding how fires spread and how that knowledge drives smart, safe tactical decisions on the fire line. One hurdle down, many more accomplishments ahead! 💪🌲

- Congratulations to Stephanie Opalka for placing 2nd out of more than 90 submissions in the Morris County Manual Contest! Stephanie’s incredible hard work earned her a Certification of Completion and a medallion presented by Morris County Clerk Ann F. Grossi. Even more exciting — her winning cover design will be proudly displayed in the Morris County Courthouse for the entire year! What an amazing accomplishment! We are so proud of you, Stephanie!
- Congratulations to Samuel Philicien! Samuel received the Morris County Unsung Hero Award! Samuel faced a significant change last year when he was placed in a new culture, with a new language, with new people. Philicien’s motivation and nonstop hard work was recognized throughout this past year. Congratulations to Samuel Philicien!

- Environmental Club: Meetings are on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month in G161. They present on current environmental topics, work in the front garden, host guest speakers, create bulletin boards, make environmentally friendly crafts, and host open discussions. Advisors: Mrs. Dunn & Ms. Fagan.
- Model UN: Meets every other Wednesday in N224. Their first competition will be at Seton Hall University on February 7th and 8th! Google Classroom Code: t2de6sf.
- Roxbury HOSA: HOSA is an international student organization to promote career opportunities in the health care Industry to help train future leaders and improve health care worldwide. Members study specific healthcare-related subjects before attending regional, and even state or national competitions, possibly even making it to the International Leadership Conference, where their medical knowledge is tested on an International scale. Our club is great for those interested in medicine and STEM, and is also a great club to put on college transcripts! Google Classroom Code: Jhgq72g.
- JSA: The Mission of JSA is to strengthen American democracy by educating and preparing high school students for lifelong involvement and responsible leadership in a democratic society. They are a nonpartisan, student-led organization with the mission of fostering civic engagement among high schoolers through regular debates, local events, information about current events, and activism and volunteering opportunities. They provide students with a platform to voice their opinions and engage in meaningful discussions. Through our activities, they hope that students will develop their own unique and informed worldviews and create change.

Teacher of the Week: Mr. Lenox
Our 3/2 Teacher of the Week is Mr. Lenox! Mr. Lenox is a Special Education teacher at Roxbury High School, and he works in our SUCCESS program. This is his third year at RHS. Mr. Lenox had the following to say about his experience here: “I would say that my time in Roxbury has been a fun and refreshing teaching experience, where I have met so many great students and colleagues. They aren’t kidding when they say that every day is a great day to be a Gael.”
Mr. Lenox attended Rutgers University, where he majored in Journalism and Media Studies. Outside of school, Mr. Lenox has been an emcee, ring announcer, host, and DJ – on and off – for the past 20 years! Additionally, he enjoys planning trips to Disney, exercising, and driving his son to his music classes and activities in his free time.
