• 11/14: The American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive in the auxiliary gym on Friday, November 14th, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The goal is to help more patients. If you are an eligible type O, B, or A- donor, consider making a Power Red donation. Red blood cells are the most commonly transfused blood component. Please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter: RoxburyHS to schedule an appointment.
• 11/14: POWDERPUFF game is held on the 14th! Here is a list of the Senior practices for Powderpuff: November 10th, 12th, and 14th.

School News: 

• 10/22: The NJSLA Field Test was administered to all grades 9,10, and 11 students. There was a delay for Seniors. 
• 10/31: Marking Period 1 ends today.

Miscellaneous: 

• Seniors, the RHS Yearbook is now collecting your senior profile information for the 25-26 yearbook. Please fill out this form and submit your answers by November 21st https://forms.gle/t6i3P8NosYRUMTtH6. You can edit your submission up until DECEMBER 8th – afterward, this form is locked. This information will be placed next to your senior picture in the 2025-2026 yearbook. All responses are reviewed by the administration. Please be appropriate. • The Roxbury Review: The Roxbury Review is looking for new contributors. You can also join our Google Classroom page with this code: 7mm4ltu
• Environmental Club: Meetings are on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month in G161. They present on current environmental topics, work in the front garden, host guest speakers, create bulletin boards, make environmentally friendly crafts, and host open discussions. Advisors: Mrs. Dunn & Ms. Fagan.
• Model UN: Meets every other Wednesday in N224. Their first competition will be at Seton Hall University on February 7th and 8th! Google Classroom Code: t2de6sf.
• Roxbury HOSA: HOSA is an international student organization to promote career opportunities in the health care Industry to help train future leaders and improve health care worldwide. Members study specific healthcare-related subjects before attending regional, and even state or national competitions, possibly even making it to the International Leadership Conference, where their medical knowledge is tested on an International scale. Our club is great for those interested in medicine and STEM, and is also a great club to put on college transcripts! Google Classroom Code: Jhgq72g.
• JSA: The Mission of JSA is to strengthen American democracy by educating and preparing high school students for lifelong involvement and responsible leadership in a democratic society. They are a nonpartisan, student-led organization with the mission of fostering civic engagement among high schoolers through regular debates, local events, information about current events, and activism and volunteering opportunities. They provide students with a platform to voice their opinions and engage in meaningful discussions. Through our activities, they hope that students will develop their own unique and informed worldviews and create change.
• Varsity R: Meeting once a week in the gym.
• Model UN: Meeting every other Wednesday in room N224.
• Yearbook Club: Meeting every other Tuesday in room H171 at 2:15.

Our 10/27 Teacher of the Week is Mrs. Spargo!

Mrs. Spargo has been teaching and working at Roxbury for the last 23 years. She graduated from RHS in 1996, and plans to stay at Roxbury for many more years to come. Her children also attend Roxbury, and she loves being a part of the Roxbury community which she was raised in. Mrs. Spargo told us that “Roxbury has, quite literally, always been home to me and it always will.” In her free time, she is either watching one of her three children play sports, watching her husband coach, or selling homes as a real estate agent! 

A quote that represents Mrs. Spargo’s time at Roxbury is:

“I got you to look after me, and you got me to look after you, and that’s why.”  ~ Of Mice and Men.
