Fiddler on the Roof, Coming February 27th, 28th & 29th
Tradition. RHS has been putting on productions for many years. The program has brought many spectacular shows to the stage at RHS; including, Anything Goes, Adams Family, Les Miserables, Seussical, and more. This year’s show is Fiddler on the Roof.
When the show was announced many people were wary because they had never heard of this classic. I can almost guarantee, though, your parents have heard of it. After Les Miserables and Seussical, many students and parents were wondering what could top these amazing performances?
Fiddler on the Roof is a show filled with a lot of laughter and Jewish tradition. Tvieye has five daughters and this whole show is based around who these girls will end up with. During the time period, having five daughters was considered a curse to be poor forever and the only hope was for one of them to marry rich. In this family, the girls will end up choosing their own paths.
The show is set in Anatevka, which is a Jewish community. These men and women’s whole lives are based around tradition and what has come before them. With the times changing, boundaries are pushed and tradition is broken.
This show is starring some of RHS’s most talented students including Spencer Scalamoni, Taylor Bailey, Isabella Hermey, Amanda Melchers, Olivia Rebernik, David Petrov, Omar Abdallah and more. This show will leave you clenching your sides from laughing and occasionally reaching for a tissue. An abundance of hard work has gone into this show so far, and these directors and students intend to wow you.
Remember, we are all a Fiddler on the Roof.
Tickets are $12, and the shows are Thursday & Friday at 7 pm and Saturday at 2 pm & 7 pm. For ticket order forms contact Mr. Hachey, Mr. Salyerds or Mrs. Sweer.
Olivia Post is a well written young woman, who has been spilling her guts in her diaries and writing sappy poems for longer than she can remember....
