Jessica Phan is an aspiring student digital artist at Roxbury High School. Much of her achievements from winning first place at Wallkill to features at Peters Valley and Blackwell Street, she is an award-winning artist throughout her High School career, and not only does she use her artistry to create illustrations, but she also implements it into her creative writing. She believes art and writing go hand in hand as art is created through concepts, and concepts are made through writing down ways to elevate the meaning of one’s art. Every brush stroke tells its own story just as one’s writing allows the reader to illustrate one’s own art, seeping into each word. She aspires to continue her artistry in the big city of New York City, where she’s found comfort in the bright lights and bustling streets filled with places to shop, and concerts to attend. From friends to family, they’ve allowed her to shape herself into who she is today, from finding her passion for becoming an artist, to constant Phan-mily trips to the city, Jess is looking forward to what the future has to offer!
