Our 10/13 Teacher of the Week is Mr. Basso!
Mr. Basso is an English and Math teacher at Roxbury High School. The 2025-2026 school year marks Mr. Basso’s 20th year teaching in Roxbury. He is also a graduate of Roxbury High School (Class of 1996). After RHS, he went on to Bloomsburg University, where he became a Business Management major. He then decided to switch careers in 2001 and got his teaching certificate from William Paterson University. Mr. Basso had the following to say about his career: “I truly love teaching because of the relationships formed. The one piece of advice I would give would be to find something you truly love doing. If you can achieve this, you are successful.”
In addition to teaching, Mr. Basso is the advisor of unified flag football. He does so much for his students and colleagues here at RHS. Mr. Basso’s days outside of school are spent attending his son’s games and spending time with his family. Some of Mr. Basso’s students and colleagues had the following to say:
“Mr. Basso is one of the best teachers here at RHS. He is very understanding and attentive to all of his students. Basso definitely deserves Teacher of the Week!” – Lily Polster
Congratulations to Mr. Basso, our 10/13 Teacher of the Week!
