Student of the Week: Andres Tasama Restrepo
Our 4/7 Student of the Week is Andres Tasma Restrepo!
“Hi everyone, it’s Andres, a senior at RHS! I consider myself a pretty active member of RHS because I’m our school’s Tri-M Music Honor Society President, an NHS executive board member, General Council Historian, and more! When I’m not serving in my positions, you’ll probably see me playing the saxophone in Honors Wind Symphony and Jazz Ensemble, singing in Classic Sounds, or frequently doing the morning announcements. Throughout high school, I’ve done a range of activities, from serving as an Entertainment Captain for Rox-THON (and even wearing an ugly rat mask the day of the event) to being the Alto Saxophone Section Leader for the Marching Gaels (and seeing our group win state championships twice in a row)! I’m also active in my grade’s Top 10, taking many challenging classes throughout high school. Besides school, I love decompressing at home by listening to music or taking long naps. I also enjoy hanging out with friends, especially when we drive around and grab food to eat. If I’m not with friends or at school, I’m most likely with my family or relaxing alone. I plan to attend Northeastern University to major in Politics, Philosophy, Economics, and Business Administration! I hope to be a corporate lawyer working in the healthcare system or a corporate lawyer specializing in intellectual property.”
“I met Andres through Rox-THON last spring when we both became Entertainment Captains, and we instantly clicked! In such a short period of time, we’ve made so many great memories together that I’ll never forget. His laughter is infectious and his personality makes him a great person overall. There’s nothing bad you could say about him, and that’s why I’m so grateful that I’ve become such close friends with him!” – Junior, Emily Cegielnik
“Andres is one of the most dedicated students I’ve had the honor of working with. He is passionate about evolving as both a scholar and a human, and never fails to put 100% into everything he is tasked with. Andres is as ambitious as they come and a sweetheart at his core.” – Ms. Theodoropoulos
“Andres is a dedicated and compassionate part of our College Writing class. His insights and interpretations drive class discussion, and his ability to contextualize lived experiences provides necessary perspective to his peers. Outside of the classroom, Andres is a valued member of the Roxbury community, and his contributions have provided experiences and opportunities for those around him. He is very deserving of recognition for his efforts and accomplishments this year.” – Mr. Hansen
“Andres is an exceptional young adult. I had the pleasure of attending his lecture on problematic historical trends in the fashion industry earlier this month. His presentation was both engaging and comprehensive. Roxbury High School is lucky to have a student such as Andres walking its halls.” – Mr. Shadwell
Congratulations to Andres Tasma Restrepo, our 4/7 Student of the Week!
