Our 3/3 Teacher of the Week is Mrs. Burleigh!
“Thanks for nominating me for Teacher Spotlight. I am in my 14th year as a Teacher at Roxbury High School and will be finishing my 20th year in the Roxbury School District. I teach Television Production 1, 2, Marketing in the Media, Social Media Marketing and Tomorrow’s Teachers. Three of the classes I teach are dual enrollment courses, which means students earn college credits by taking them, which is a great option. One fun fact is that there is a group of students that I taught for 5 straight years and we are all still in touch. I had a cycle class at EMS my first year and then had them for 4 years in our Media Program. I love staying in touch and seeing what my students are up to. Something interesting about myself is that before coming to Roxbury, I worked at Montclair State and Seton Hall University. During that time I lived on campus with my family, which is probably why I love coming to sporting events with my students. Supporting them in and out of the classroom has always been something that I enjoy. I attended Keene State College in New Hampshire where I earned a degree in Broadcasting and Communications. I earned a Master’s from Seton Hall in Corporate Communication, then another Master’s in Education and an Ed.S. in Educational Administration at Seton Hall and earned the certificate for school supervisor, Principal & Superintendent. I love working in Roxbury and am very proud of my students. I only cheer for Mount Olive when my kids are on a team so otherwise I am a big fan of the Gaels!!!!” – Mrs. Burleigh.
“Mrs. Burleigh is the sweetest! She always has a positive attitude and a smile on her face. I learned so much from her and her classes. I recommend taking Social Media Marketing with her! I’m so glad she is being recognized as our Teacher Of The Week!” -Katie Caron, Senior.
“Mrs. Burleigh is the best! Whenever I need life advice, she is always willing to listen to me and my friends. I have learned so much about college and high school from Mrs. Burleigh. She always has a positive attitude and makes all of her students feel comfortable. Mrs. Burleigh definitely deserves Teacher of the Week!” – Lily Polster, Junior.
Congratulations to Mrs. Burleigh, our 3/3 Teacher of the Week!
