Our 2/10 Student of the Week is Alexis Oliveira
Alexis Oliveira is a senior at Roxbury High School, and is involved in both Varsity Ice Hockey and Varsity Girls Lacrosse for the school. Alexis loves being a part of the Interact club at Roxbury and helping the community, being a journalist for the Roxbury Review, and being a part of GaelVision in the school. Outside of school, Alexis plays for the club girls ice hockey team, 19U New Jersey Colonials, enjoys hanging out with her friends and mom, going to the beach, and making a positive lasting impact on others. After graduation, Alexis is committed to play NCAA Women’s Ice Hockey and Women’s Lacrosse for the Alvernia University Golden Wolves. She plans on majoring in Communications and Minoring in business, in hopes to become either a sports broadcaster, or saleswoman one day in her future. Some of her favorite memories from high school are overcoming challenges, winning the HAAS Cup with the ice hockey team previously this week, and spending time outside of school hours playing various sports with her best friends. If Alexis were to give one piece of advice to the younger generations, it would be “Do things that make you happy, never take anything for granted, and make the most out of everyday life. Truthfully this time will fly as much as you don’t want to believe it, and you’ll remember these days. Continue to grow each day, and never stop moving forward no matter what.” There is so much more to come for Alexis in her future, and we can’t wait to see what it is! #LetsGoGoldenWolves
“I have had the pleasure of teaching Alexis for the last three years. In many ways, she exemplifies what it means to be a great student. You are hard-pressed to find her without a smile on her face, she enters each classroom with an upbeat greeting, and she works diligently to improve every day; her positivity and commitment to self-improvement are infectious, and she is very deserving of Student of the Week!” -Mrs. Santoro, English
“Alexis is one of the kindest people I know! She always has a smile on her face and is making jokes! She is so creative and I enjoy reading her articles! She is very deserving of Student of the Week!” Katie Caron, Senior
“Alexis is the most inspiring, talented person I’ve ever met! She is an amazing friend and always has my back! She is a huge supporter and has so much going for her! I’m so proud of what’s to come for her! Let’s go, Golden Wolves! #laxandhockeycommit” – Taylor Schauble, Junior
Congratulations to Alexis Oliveira, our 2/10 Student of the Week!
