Jalene Molina has been attending the Roxbury School District for 12 years–practically her whole life. Jalene has made incredible, fulfilling, and kind-hearted friends along the way. Jalene has gotten many awards for school, drawing, GPA, etc. As Molina strives to overcome challenges, some of her friends and teachers appreciate the work she puts in and how much of an impact she makes.
Mr. Shadwell, a teacher in the Business department, remarked, “ Jalene is an exceptional young woman, who never fails to put a smile on both her teachers and her classmates’ faces.” Shadwell is one of Jalene’s favorite teachers because she can joke around with him and overall the two have a good bond. This bond formed when Jalene took Mr. Shadwell’s semester class during her junior year. Though it was onlynly for a couple of months, Shadwell recognized how Jalene can put a big smile on not only her teachers faces but also her peers.
Ms. Niya, who is new to Roxbury this year, has already formed a strong bond with Jalene. She quoted, “I love having Jalene in class. She’s a breath of fresh air. She has a fun personality. Her presence is so fulfilling, she always never fails to put a smile on my face or make me laugh. She’s a wonderful student and a great person. I’ve seen her grow this year and am so proud of her.” Ms.Niya has become one of Jalene’s ultimate favorite teachers. The bond the two have is unbreakable. Jalene will always go to Ms.Niya’s class to do work, talk, and overall laugh with Ms.Niya. Having Jalene in class, Ms.Niya has seen how Jalene’s aura can just spark up with the room with her presence.
Nextly, Leyton Richards. He is one of Jalene’s bestest of friends. Richards stated, “I’ve known her since 3rd grade in Ms. Happi’s class. Ever since we kept growing up, she’s always been my day one, someone I’m proud to call my sister. We had so many memories together and still more to make and cherish for a lifetime. Jalene’s just overall a nice person and I’m glad to be the friend to be there for her when times are tough or she just needs a shoulder to cry on. Words cannot express how happy I am to have her as a friend. She’s truly one of the best, she makes me laugh, gives advice, and overall she just makes everyone in her presence smile.” Leyton’s friendship with Jalene has been over 9+ years and they continue to make more memories together. No matter what they’ve been through, they know they still have each other in the end to go to.
Lastly, Vanessa Burgos, she’s been friends with Jalene for 10+ years. Vanessa said, “I’ve been friends with Jalene since kindergarten. She was the first ever friend I made and ever since then, she’s been the person who makes me laugh, smile, and overall reminds me of my worth whenever I’m down. Jalene has such a great personality. She has a great talent for drawing and just making objects. Jalene has a kind heart and is just so caring for others. I love Jalene so much and wouldn’t want anyone else to be my friend besides her. She’s always my number one person to hang out with on the weekends!”
I just wanted to take a moment to let Jalene know how much I and everyone around her appreciate her. She’s been incredibly nice, always bringing positivity into everyone’s lives. Jalene’s creativity never ceases to amaze any of her friends or teachers. She’s talented in everything she’s passionate about. I’m really grateful to have such an amazing friend like Jalene.
