Success is an immensely powerful term. While some of us dread it, others strive to master it. At its core, success embodies a feeling of happiness and personal fulfillment. What truly lies behind the secret of achieving success?
You must have a plan for your future to get on track for success. If you start with a strong foundation you can build upon, you are more likely to achieve your goals. According to Chris Williams, author of 10 Secrets of Success, “Setting SMART goals helps you track your progress, stay motivated, and make necessary adjustments.” This explains the process of needing to have a goal. If you have nothing to reach for, that success is a powerful term that differs with each of us. While some may dread it, others are motivated to achieve it.
Taking Action
The next step to building the foundation of your success is to take action. This ties back into setting your SMART goal. Once you have that set goal, do everything in your power to put yourself in the best position to achieve it. Having a goal requires focus, confidence, and persistence to reach the result. When you take action, it allows you to establish a base to build from. Taking action opens the doors to traits that may be more beneficial to you. For example, you learn how to establish credibility within yourself. You may also learn how to create clarity, avoid procrastination, and “lock-in.” The definition of “lock-in” is, “Commitment, binding, or restriction,” states Dictionary.com. You will never reach your goal if you don’t dedicate at least 20 minutes a day to it.
Focusing on Self-Reflection
During this process, it’s okay to feel discouraged within yourself or your goal. Learning and self-improvement are vital. The world is constantly changing and staying relevant to what is going on around you requires an ongoing commitment to learning new skills and acquiring knowledge. Senior Alexis Olivera states, “I think the secret to success is creating morals and goals for yourself to achieve. I think the goals and morals you set for yourself, become your own definition of success. Everybody has different secrets to success, and that’s what makes success so important and diverse.”Another way of trying to keep yourself sharp may be writing down your strengths and weaknesses. You can also try setting smaller goals to later help you reach the main goal.
What do you think the secret to success is?
The question, “What do you think the secret to success is?” Was asked to teachers at Roxbury High School. Let’s see what their thoughts are. ¨I believe the secret to success is time management, definition, and not being afraid to take risks!¨ English teacher Mr. Benbow says with pride. “I believe the secret to success is belief in yourself, hard work, dedication, and not being afraid to take risks!” states Ms. Kaine. “My secret to success is hard work of course, dedication, and perseverance. It is also not being afraid of change and being willing to take risks. Knowing that “Everything you lose is a step you take” Taylor Swift, ¨You´re On Your Own Kid is essential to growth.” Mentions Ms. Kelly. As we see, one phrase keeps appearing. Take risks. If you are unable to take risks you may never see the success that will later come.
While you may be pondering how to achieve your success the real secret lies within yourself. If you are not willing to put in the hard work along with effort you may never figure out your secret to success within you.
