Student of the Week: Abbie Rattay
Congratulations to Abbie Rattay, our 1/13 Student of the Week!
“I have Abbie as a member of our lacrosse program as well as a student in my math class this year. Abbie is an extremely talented and hard working young woman who is very deserving of an award like Student of the Week. In regards to lacrosse, I’m looking forward to seeing her continue to grow as a player as she enters her junior season. With that being said, she is probably already one of our most accomplished players in our program’s history. She is extremely dedicated to the sport as she logs many hours honing her craft to be the best that she can be. But as her coach, I’ve always said that the most impressive part of Abbie’s game is how she makes those around her better. It says a lot about her character and her commitment to her teammates. She is quiet by nature, but will be the first one to celebrate others’ success. She’s also a fierce competitor, who gives maximum effort on a daily basis, and never backs down from a challenge. As a student, Abbie would probably be the first to tell you that she doesn’t love math half as much as she does lacrosse, but I’ve been extremely impressed with her work ethic in the classroom as well. She quietly goes about her business everyday with that same desire to strive to be the best she can be. There are times where Abbie asks meaningful questions, where you can tell you she is trying to have a deeper understanding of the material. And with one of the higher averages in the class, she has performed very well over the course of the first two marking periods and I expect that to remain true during the second half of the school year.” – Coach/Math Teacher, Mr. Bewalder
“I do not have enough positive things to say about Abbie in regards to her performance in class. She comes prepared each day and shows a true interest in the field of Sports Medicine.”
“Abbie is a very solid, responsible, hard working student who does a great job on all assignments for my class. She has a strong work ethic and works well with other students.” – English Teacher, Mr. Flynn
