Maintaining good time management during school can be difficult, especially for student-athletes. School followed by after-school sports can create conflict when finishing school work. These athletes have different ways to get their work done and ensure they’re on top of their school work. They were all asked the same question: “How do you manage your time when your sport is in season?”
“Whenever I have free time, I get it done in school. I have my agenda it helps me keep track of what I have to do.” -Isabella Gil, Senior, Volleyball
“I do my homework while JV plays, and I do it when I’m on the bus.” -Alyssa Bukosky, Junior, Volleyball
“I put my time into periods and increments. I try to split it up between homework/studying, family, showering, and hygiene. I have to put my phone away to ensure I lock into my work when I pick up my phone and get distracted.” -Aubery Tummino, Junior, Track & Field
“I utilize my free time at home and my VIPs to do my homework. I also do it on bus rides because sometimes when they’re like an hour-long” -Sophie Sanders, Junior, Swimming
“I manage my time by doing my homework during study hall. When I get out of practice or my game, I will do the rest of it at home.” -Esteban Agudelo, Sophomore, Soccer
“After school, I follow my schedule, eating food, showering, and then homework.” -Giorgi Rekhviashvili, Sophomore, Soccer
“I either try to do it before practice because they’re later than a typical practice, or I’ll do it after practice. If I have a game I’ll do it on the bus.” -Makayla Lewis, Senior, Cheer
