MISCELLANEOUS
- Interested in going to Italy and Greece this summer with classmates and Ms. Demova? See Ms. Demova with any questions.
- The PSATs were held on Wednesday, October 16 for Sophomores and Juniors.
- Marking Period 1 ends on Thursday, October 31.
- Financial Aid Night is on Thursday, October 31.
- There will be an assembly featuring guest speaker Timothy Shoemaker on online safety and screen time for teenagers on Tuesday, October 22.
- Future Educators Club (FEC) is hosting its Trunk or Treat on October 20th.
- For any students interested in joining a military branch, the ASVAB assessment will be given Wednesday, October 23 at 7:30 AM. Please see your guidance counselor if you have any questions.
- Rox-THON is having its PJ Day on Wednesday, October 23.
- Attention Juniors and Seniors: The College Fair is happening during skinny blocks on Monday, October 21.

MARCHING BAND
- Congratulations to the Marching Gaels as on Saturday (10/5) they performed their show “Rearrange” at West Orange and won 1st place in the AA division with a score of 84.4, as well as the AA division Best Visuals, Best Music, and Best Effect awards! Additionally, the Marching Gaels won Overall Best Visuals, Overall Best Music, and Overall Best Effect, and the title of Grand Champion!
- This Saturday (10/19) the Marching Gaels will be going to Verona High School, performing their show “Rearrange”, to compete in the AA Division. The Gaels take the field at 7 pm. Good Luck to the Marching Gaels!
INDOOR COLOR GUARD
- Roxbury’s Indoor Color Guard announced their 2025 show, entitled “Bad to the Bone.” The show will take place in the Wild West! If you are interested, contact the director of colorguard Cindy Herrera, at [email protected].
- There will be two interest meetings for indoor color guard on October 21st and November 11th at 2:15 in I-101.
THEATER
The Fall Play has been announced! Roxbury will put on their production of the play “Noises Off” by Michael Frayn. The shows will be Thursday 10/31 and Friday 11/1 in the High School Auditorium. Click here to purchase tickets: Noises Off Tickets

- The TRI M Music Induction Ceremony will be held on Monday (10/21) from 7 pm to 8 pm. Congratulations to all members!
CLUBS
- Peer to Peer Leaders held their monthly meeting in the media center on Thursday, October 17th.

The whole purpose of the club is to appreciate the culture of the Spanish-speaking world and encourage as many people as possible in Roxbury High School to participate. There will be more meetings. Email Kevin Cantwell and Maria Jose Navarro for any further questions or more information.
- The Roxbury Review club held its first meeting of the school year (10/9) in room M213. If you are interested in joining the club please fill out this Google Form
- Equal Rights Advocacy Club will host a meeting on Tuesday, October 22nd immediately after school in N224. Come and celebrate Halloween with the club and learn about some societal issues the world is currently facing.
HOS Club (New Care Club of Aspiring Medical Professionals) will host a meeting on 10/18 in room M213. If any questions or need more information email Isabel Kalodner.
Our 10/14 Teacher of the Week is Ms. OBraitis! Ms. OBraitis is one of the Culinary teachers at Roxbury High School. To her students, Ms. Obraitis is known as a “supportive and kind teacher”!
“I am a professionally trained chef and have been interested in cooking since I was about 5 years old. I majored in Culinary Arts and Clinical Nutrition/Dietetics at Johnson & Wales University. This is my 7th year teaching at Roxbury High School, and I am the Class of 2027 advisor. Outside of school I enjoy traveling, hiking, trying new recipes, and spending time with my dog, Luna, who I rescued last year!”
