-RHS Cheer will also sell Pink Out shirts for breast cancer awareness month! Half of the proceeds will go towards the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research. View the flyer attached for more information. The pink-out game is October 4th at home going up against Chatham.

-Hallway decorating was on October 1, and on the morning of the 2nd – students were greeted with cereal-inspired, decked-out hallways. The winner of the decorating was… THE SENIOR CLASS!

MARCHING BAND
-This past Saturday (9/28) the Marching Gaels went to Randolph High School for their first competitive performance of the season in the AA Division. The Gaels won 1st place with a score of 78.5, and won Best Visuals, Best Effect, and Best Music in their division. Congratulations to the Marching Gaels!
-This Saturday (10/5) the Marching Gaels will be going to West Orange High School to compete in the AA division, performing their show “Rearrange”. The Gaels perform at 6:30 pm. Good Luck Gaels!
INDOOR COLORGUARD
-Roxbury’s Indoor Colorguard announced their 2025 show, entitled “Bad to the Bone.” The show will take place in the Wild West! If you are interested, contact the director of colorguard Cindy Herrera, at [email protected].
CLUBS
-Rox-THON held a captains meeting on Tuesday, October 1st.
-Peer to Peer Leaders held their monthly meeting in the media center on Wednesday, October 2nd.
-Rox-THON will hold their committee meeting on Thursday 10/10 in the media center after school till 3:15 PM.
-Spanish Club (Club de Español) their first school year meeting is on 10/9 after school held in P246. They have a meeting once a month.

FIELD TRIPS
-Environmental Science Field Trip (10/2) to the Lake Hopatcong Foundation. The class will be leaving at 9:10 and will go to the foundation, and go on a boat trip while conducting some research.
-AP Literature & Composition (10/18) to the Dodge Poetry Festival
Our 9/30 Teacher of the Week is Mrs. Heddy! Mrs. Heddy is an English teacher at RHS, she has made a big impact on her students during her time as a teacher at Roxbury High School.
When asked about her career at Roxbury, Mrs. Heddy had this to say, “I love Roxbury as I am a community member and raised my own children here. Working with young people keeps me youthful as I continue learning from them every day. My hobbies are reading the newest novels for my book club. watching sports and traveling to far-away destinations. This summer, I explored Greece. Switzerland and Portugal!!!”
