Our student of the week is Kate McDougal! Kate is a Junior and is involved in Marching Band, Indoor Percussion, Softball, Band Council, National Honor Society, Tri-M, Peer to Peer, Environmental Club and Junior States Of America. She enjoys reading, skateboarding, playing music, skiing, and crocheting. She plans to attend college and earn a PhD in molecular and cellular biology. She is adored by all her friends and teachers which is evidenced by the following quotes:
“Kate is such a kind and supportive person! I am so appreciative that she takes time out of each week to help me in Bio! She really is an inspiring person and a great role model to all students, and I’m so happy she is our student of the week!” – Taylor Schauble, Sophomore
“Kate is a great person and amazing at so many things. She was the band major for this Marching Band season for the first time, and I am so impressed with how naturally good she was at it. Kate was so helpful, fun, and nice as Band Major and I can’t wait to do Marching Band again with her next year!” – Abbie Entel, Junior
“Kate is such an amazing friend! She is smart, funny and an amazing listener! She is so supportive and definitely deserving of student of the week!” – Katie Caron, Junior
“Kate McDougal is one of the brightest and most mature students I have ever had. She is always calm and composed and leads her classmates in such a gentle manner. Kate makes the hardest tasks appear effortless and she is extremely humble. She is kind and funny and makes everyone around her feel relaxed. Kate is truly unique and I am so glad I’ve had the pleasure of having her in my class this year.” -Mrs. Sheldon, Biology Teacher
“Kate is an outstanding student, athlete, musician, and most importantly, a wonderful person. She is a great role model for her peers, and I have had the pleasure to see her grow into a fantastic leader in the Roxbury band program through her roles as Drum Major of the Marching Gaels, President of the Band Council, and Secretary of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Through her hard work, drive, and caring for others, Kate has made a significant impact on our program, its culture, and the people in it. I am excited to have her here for another year!” -Mr. Sweer, Band Director
“Kate McDougal is an excellent Honors Physics student, a great young woman, and I am jealous that she can add color to her hair.” -Mr. Scheneck, Physics Teacher
“Kate is a phenomenal AP Literature student. She consistently comes to class prepared with her own interpretations of the text we are studying and willingly shares her ideas during class discussion. She always propels our class conversation forward and challenges ideas that we are talking about while always supporting her ideas with evidence from the text! Keep it up, Kate!” -Mrs. Schmidt, English Teacher
Congratulations to Kate McDougal, our 3/18 student of the week!
