As the 2023 year comes to a close, Spotify released its annual Spotify Wrapped which is everyone’s most listened to music this year, and even most listened to artists. Many Spotify users anticipate this event to find how their top songs, top artists, and even their top genres compare to the following years. The following interviews reveal how students from Roxbury High School listed in 2023. See their top listeners, accompanied by the question if their top artist reflects them as a person.
Juliana Osterman (Senior): My top artist was Zach Bryan! I think it reflects on me as a person because his lyrics have so many layers, and I think that on the surface you wouldn’t realize but the deeper you look into the more meaning you can find. I think I am the same way because on the surface I can seem one way, but on a deeper level there are a lot of layers to me.
Taylor Schauble (Sophomore): My top artist is Taylor Swift. She reflects me as a person because I can relate to some of her songs, and they make me really happy. Also, going to the eras tour was a dream and the memories I made there will never be forgotten.
Richard Biase (Junior): My top artist was Drake; he doesn’t reflect me as a person.
Nolan Monaghan (Freshman): My top artist is Kordhell, he makes electronic music. I think he reflects me because I like adrenaline rushes and his songs give me adrenaline rushes because of the beat drops.
Gabriel Farkas (Sophomore): Lana Del Rey, and she 100% represents exactly who I am. She is strong and vulnerable at the same time, and takes pride in her feelings
Addison Christian (Sophomore): Taylor Swift [her top artist] represents me as a person and I think she’s a very kind hearted person and she’s not afraid to show it. I think I’m very similar.
Lizzy Ricucci (Sophomore): Taylor Swift, and yes she represents me as a person. She thinks about people and how she can make things better. Those aspects can be found in me.
