Why You Need To Stay Home During Quarantine
Currently, people all over the world are self-quarantined due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We are all advised to stay home so that we don’t spread or contract the virus. Still, many people wonder why they need to stay home if they don’t have the virus. What a lot of people don’t understand is that they could have the virus even if they do not show any symptoms.
Well, it could be possible that you have the virus and just do not know it. People with the COVID-19 virus don’t always show symptoms, meaning that they are asymptomatic. When someone is asymptomatic, it means that you have an illness but do not have any of the symptoms.
Even though people who are asymptomatic don’t experience symptoms of coughing and sneezing, a common way that illnesses are spread, they are still able to transmit the virus. The simple act of inhaling and exhaling can pass respiratory droplets, which is enough to spread the virus to someone else. The simplest actions such as breathing releases tiny droplets with the virus, making it important to cover your face with a mask or some other protection. This will not only reduce the spread of the virus, but it will also protect you from getting the virus. But the big question is, why is it important to take all of these precautions?
Well, if people aren’t taking precautions like staying home, using a mask, and proper social distancing seriously, it will spread the virus and endanger peoples’ lives. Research shows that, without these precautions, the majority of the world population would contract the virus. This would leave many in danger. Those with underlying health conditions are most vulnerable to the virus, still need to go out to get necessities like medication and food.
Although many find it hard to stay inside all the time, you can still leave your house to go on walks to get fresh air! You do not have to be completely housebound. You can still walk outside, hang out in your backyard, facetime friends, and try your best to make this experience a great one! It’s important to not go out for unnecessary things, especially since there are other peoples’ lives at stake. Remember to only go out for necessities and to follow proper social distancing precautions. You’ll be protecting yourself and so many others!
