Roxbury vs Vernon (Wednesday, 5/15): Roxbury Girls Lacrosse travels to Vernon to compete at 4PM!
Roxbury vs Cedar Grove (Friday, 5/17): Roxbury Girls Lacrosse will play in their second final regular season game at Cedar Grove for a 4:30PM start!

Marching Band Registration: The Marching Gaels 2024 season registration is now open! Go to the Marching Gaels classroom to register. Check out the Marching Gaels Instagram for this season’s trailer for their show “Rearrange!”
CLUBS & FIELD TRIPS
Clubs
Roxbury Unified Flag Football (Wednesday, 5/8): Roxbury Unified Flag Football played hard this last Wednesday, ending the game with a score of 7-13.
Rox-Buddies (Wednesday, 5/8): Rox-Buddies went to Nixon Elementary School from 3:30-4:30 PM to spend time with their Nixon Buddies!
Field Trips
Criminology and Forensics Field Trip (Wednesday, 5/8) Criminology and Forensics classes took a fun field trip to CCM this past Wednesday! They had so much fun!
Media Conference (Friday, 5/17): The Roxbury Media Conference will be held at RHS throughout the day on Friday, May 17th. This Conference includes various guest speakers educating students on their experiences in their workplace and the media.
THE ROXBURY RECAP’S TEACHER/STUDENT(S) OF THE WEEK
Mr. Cantell has been teaching at Roxbury High School for 21 years. He graduated from SUNY Albany with a Bachelor’s in Spanish, he then went on to get his Master’s degree in Spanish Literature from NYU. His favorite part about his job is “just interacting with my students and colleagues on a daily basis. The strength of Roxbury really is the community. We have some of the best teachers I have come across in my career and the students are top-notch. Our administrators are extremely supportive as well. Plus, now that I am coaching Bowling, Roxbury is the perfect place for me!” Mr. Cantwell is appreciated by students which is evidenced by the following quote:
“Mr. Cantwell is an amazing coach and I love the energy he always brings to the team! I’m so excited that he has been nominated for teacher of the week because he definitely deserves it! From taking the bowling team to the county championships, coaching the Unified Flag Football team, and teaching Spanish, Mr. Cantwell does it all! Congrats Mr. Cantwell!
